Fall in Colorado
Bugling elk, the chance of snow, 80 degree days…you never know what you will experience on a fall day in Colorado. You can count on the sunshine though, we have always got sunshine.
The Front Range region of Colorado stretches along the foothills at the base of the Rocky Mountains.
Easily accessible from Denver International Airport, the Front Range boasts it’s own beauty and serves as a gateway to the Rockies. Cities in this area are known for their excellent biking, both on trails and on safe well-designed bike lanes. Walking and hiking trails lead across hills and around lakes, ponds, and through each town. Colorado is a visually striking location to complete alcohol and drug addiction treatment. Though the weather is changing, the fall months still have plenty of outdoor opportunities.
September
Elk produce a wild sound during mating season each fall. Called bugling, the sound rises to a high pitch from a low rumble followed by series of grunts. Bull elks may fight with a clash of antlers. Weighing up to one thousand pounds bull elk are a sight to see.
October
The changing leaves of the aspen trees make Colorado glow golden yellow in fall. Their bright white trunks highlight the small round gold aspen leaves as they quake in the wind.
November
Colorado’s sunny dry weather allows for outdoor activities even in cooler weather. Stroll through nearby Benson sculpture garden, explore Lory State Park, or walk around Lake Loveland.
